Never would she become a murderer and find herself in such a predicament as this again. Getting pushed and prodded into a fight, but it was only his words and actions that were getting her going, not actual attacks that she needed to defend herself. Why was his words bothering her so much? The outgoing female never used to get agitated so easily by other creatures, but being out here alone, her nerves had already been on edge. But then, someone was attacking her without anyone to break up the argument, the conditions were total different. There was no doubt in the young mare's mind that this stallion could take her life if he truly wished to, and he could have done it already and she was just the sitting duck. She didn't think though that he so much wanted to kill her. More like she was a play thing for him. Throw her around as he pleased to beat her up, but still leave her living to throw around a little more later. Heck no, it was not happening, she was not going to be used as some toy of amusement to feed his hunger for a fight.

The excuse he gave for targeting her, she saw it very lame, and very stupid. Not that he was stupid per say, for he knew how to talk his way about things, but it was a stupid reason to be a total jerk. It did scare her though more, some male bred in a family that fought, probably trained in a family that fought. It was like her being a twig fighting against a boulder. Analay did not choose to talk herself down so much, but it was unavoidable. Not only was this "Moonchaser" huge and born for fighting, but he had her cornered. He left her few options, and as all these worries weighed more and more on her mind it only caused her to face more and watch him with more intense eyes. She really wanted to scream out for help, but who would hear her cries, and she also couldn't kill her pride with such a wimpish move. She swallowed thickly when he declared that he was done talking and when he untied his ax and held up his javelin, she could have fainted. How unfair of a fight was this?!

No longer would she stand and play prey. Instantly her bow was up, arrow pulled back, and she was letting go. The arrow aimed right at his shoulder, still she would not be a murderer, but it was only a distraction. As soon as the arrow was released, she was turning on her heels and running. Her hooves scratched at the stone as she moved back upstream. Not so much running away, but getting herself out of the corner. With a leap she was back up on the higher riverbed, standing up so now she was at the stallions level from where he had stood before, instead of being looked down upon. An arrow was put onto the taught string and she was ready to stir in case something came flying at her or running for that matter. Her chest heaved in fear, her honey eyes locked on the stallion to try and predict a move from him. He was so unreadable, making her just as uneasy as when she had been cornered between rock and stallion.

Irontail knew that she was running low on options, she might just try something in desperation. It was much like a mare to try and catch him unawares, they thought they were so smart. This was his area of expertise, in a fight. He did love this, her slight show of fear and his feeling of superiority. He was large and in charge.

She certainly knew what she was doing with that bow of hers. The arrow came off of her bow at a speed that only someone who had practiced with it for her whole life. His reaction was purely out of instincts, honed from hundreds of fights. He jerked himself backward, pulling away from the shot, but even his instincts did not allow him to totally dodge the blow. He growled as the arrow hit high on his shoulder and sliced through the top layer of skin, causing blood to start flowing from the wound. The feather stuck in the wound, causing him to growl in pain and anger. He responded as to hurl his javelin, but was surprised to see her jump had carried her right out of the stream. She had quite a bit of power in those legs. He did not pause to praise her, but continued to test her. He watched her land and hurled the javelin in his hand. He aimed at the chest of her horse half, trying to hamper her ability to run away.

As he hurled the stick he flipped the axe in his right hand and into both hands in front of him. He was surprised, it seemed she carried not other melee weapon upon her. She was just inviting for him to close into melee range. Maybe even swing at her bow? Oh that was a delicious idea. He followed shortly after his javelin, roaring as the lust of battle fell upon him. The inbred rage of his family was emerging, causing him to be faster and stronger, but more reckless. His strategy relied upon only the few hits that were required for him to achieve victory with his giant axe. He knew his stride was longer and his horse type was athletic, she would not outrace him, she had no way out of this fight, so he hoped. He continued his charge, she was going to fight, whether she wanted to or not.

It was instinct that acted upon her mind to run, driving her to move away from the threat. She realized as she landed her jump up to higher ground that she had missed what could have been a hit of the javelin to her hind quarters. The sound of the weapon whizzing past her legs just as she jumped and the tip cutting some strands of her tail, caused her to turn around and glare at him. What was he trying to do, kill her?! The weapon found itself lodged into the trunk of a tree, and with a snort she kicked out in a bucking motion, her hooves snapping the tool in two. The mare smirked at the stallion as she stood glaring at him. That was what he was gonna get for throwing things at her, broken toys. He gave her no time though, and another javelin flew out at her, and she jumped once more, but she had reacted to slowly. The tip of the weapon sliced at her back legs, the stick part caught between her legs to cause to flip as it tripped her up. She groaned as she found herself on the ground, her shoulder bleeding from sliding on the harsh forest floor, and her hind leg bleeding from the cut of the javelin.

The stallion had definitely slowed her moving away, but he did not totally immobilize her. Her legs kicked out as she quickly pulled herself to stand, her body shaking as a mare trying to get leaves and the such from her coat and tail. She winced, holding up her back leg as it hurt to put weight on it, feeling as if she had twisted it when she fell. Well, it looked like she wouldn't be running away, and she assumed that was what the stallion had been aiming at. Slowing her, not killing her. Or at least she hoped so. She realized with a scream he charging at her and she shot an arrow at him again, no longer able to show mercy as she aimed for a killer hit, whether to greatly hurt him or at least slow him down immensely. Her only weapon was her bow, yet he was throwing javelin's and coming at her with an axe. She reared, a warning again for him to back on, coming down on his other javelin, causing it to snap, her body staggering as her hing leg wished to give out.

With a last source of ideas she turned and ran, and with a fatal leap of faith, jumped over the stream, barely catching as she landed on the opposite embankment. For a moment she would have felt free and like a flyer, but with a man chasing after her it was not the same feeling. Her legs screamed on pain, and it reflected on her face, but she just wheeled around on her hind and shot again at him. If only he would slow some, equal up the playing field. Here she was, with only one weapon and already injured. He had multiple weapons and had speed and strength to hold over her. As a mare she was very agile and probably could be swifter than the stallion, but with her leg, she wouldn't be able to dash as she would be in a normal situation. Analay's biggest worry was that he was really trying to kill her, and she did not wish to fall as his human victim had. She looked for a strategy, looked for tools of the first to help her, and she smirked as she sought out weak points and strong points for her to use against the opponent. The stallion's eyes burned with the passion of a killer, and that was what she feared the most.

Irontail could feel the rush of battle welling up within him. People believed him to be passionless and cruel, many of them had not seen him in a combat. He lost what little restraints he had and fed off of pure anger and rage, it made him forget most of his pain and keep fighting, even if some of his injuries would stop lesser beings. He saw her reactions to him and knew they had a basis in one area, instincts. She was not a polished warrior, but her instincts were certainly of someone who could become one. Why did all the mares with such potential have to be far too soft hearted? Well he was certainly doing his part to fix that with this one.

He saw fear in her eyes, but it did not dissolve into panic. She was willing to fight back, even though she claimed not to be a warrior. We'll see about that, he thought. He was brought out of his thoughts as she was back on her feet and was about to release another arrow. He was still in mid-charge, unable to stop himself to dodge, he bowled through, knowing that all he could do was twist his human half. The projectile came forth and he leaned away and twisted, but this arrow was much more effective than her last. His twist caused his body to raise slightly and the arrow slammed into the left side of his stomach, sticking inches deep into him.

Now it was over, she had shot him seriously, now she was going to feel the pain ten times over, he'd make sure of that. The drops of rain turned red as he neared his target. Amazingly she turned and cleared the stream, even as he saw blood running down her hind leg. This girl was made of all the right stuff and yet she was a true mare, soft and weak. She landed on the other side and he was amazed to see her keep her feet. He grew tired of this game, he'd have to chase her into the woods where her bow would be less effective or use his own bow. He quickly followed after her, jumping up as another arrow sliced through the air. His jump carried the arrow down low, but it sliced into the belly of his horse half as he passed. He roared in anger as the edge of the stream rose to meet him just a little too fast and his hind legs scrabbled against the edge, trying to gain some footing. He knew he'd be open to attack if he did not move, so he did what came first to his enraged mind. He cocked back his arm and hurled his axe at the mare. It twirled through the air, aimed right at her chest. The weight of his axe allowed him to regain his footing as he slipped his right arm behind him to grab his bow. "I hope you have no regrets," he growled at her. She had hit him three times and still ran like a coward before him, now it was his turn to start shooting and he held no quarter. She was free game and she knew it.

As soon as the luck had come, the luck was gone, and it seemed Analay was very close to meeting her death. As she stood, watching the stallion clear the jump over the stream, she saw her life flash before her eyes. She could see that her minutes left her limited because she had seriously hit the stallion, and instead of slowing him, it only enraged him more to keep coming after her. He struggled at the embankment edge though, and she gasped, lunging to help him, but she screamed as she wheeled back on her heels when the axe flew at her. She had not been close when she lunged to help him, but pulling back on put her back in the target. She lunged again to get out of the way, but it didn't save her from the path of destruction. With the last luck she had, the blade caught her arm, cutting a deep gash, but luckily it missed enough not to take of her arm. The handle in the speed her her arm just after the blade, and she gasped as she fell back, the sickening crunch was the bone was hit hard enough. A definate break.

Analay screamed in pain, grabbing her arm as every nerve in the arm screamed, never had she hurt herself like this. She had twisted her somethings as a filly, but this break was worse than the feeling of the sprain. The blood gushed down the shoulder of one arm from the ground slide, while the other arm was blood covered from the axe cut and already begining to bruise. Her hind was still bleeding, but the pain of the arm made her totally forget the pain of her arm. She tried to run, but in the fury to move away from her attacker her leg caught the log she had intended to jump, faltering again to crash on her groaning legs and with her luck gone, she fell on her screaming arm. Why? Why her, she lay on the ground, trying to pull herself up, but as bruises started to dot her arms and her legs felt the pain of the sprain more, she just wished to lay and rest. Tears streamed her face and her honey eyes were blinded by the tears.

Why her? She hadn't asked to fight, hadn't pushed any buttons on the male to offend him. As she lay on the ground, she pulled herself up onto shaking legs with a last pull. He was right, she was a weak soft hearted mare. As a filly she had been trained to be a loyal herd member and a polite mare, not a fighter. This was a totally knew element. As she whipped her eyes, looking towards the stallion, now able to see, she saw the arrow. Her canister had fallen over her shoulders a few steps back, the arrows scattered about the forest floor. Her hand made bow had snapped in his last fall, and she was left weaponless. When he spoke, she knew he planned to take her life and she swallowed. Well, if he was going to kill her, she would at least die with dignity. The remainder of her strength had been used to stand, but she was able to starighten, looking at him straight in the eyes to accept her faith as he pointed his stocked arrow at her. Her body was bloody, her hair had pieces of bramble as it was pulled over the one shoulder. She looked very much beaten up, not the clean beauty she had been when she had first walked upon the male. She did not speak to him, only glared. She couldn't run, she could only fall again and then he would shoot and kill her. So why not just stand, and stop the pain her body screamed with.

Irontail was in the peak of his rage. Seeing her bloody and beaten just added fuel to the fire of his anger. The fire burned within him, she would fight him until she could fight no more, whether she was dead or was too weak to fight anymore. She was going to be a warrior and an adventurer. She could not be one without the other. His anger poured down like the rain, coating him in a will to battle.

Perhaps he had been rash in thinking to kill her, but she had injured him greatly, she would pay for that. He decided to leave his bow in its place on his back. Even he could see that she had no weapon, he would make her feel the pain through blows until she begged for him to stop. "You have such potential and yet you resist the calling you are so made for with your whole soul. Why?" He did not wait for an answer, more just putting another of his points home. He charged in raising his fist above his head, making it very obvious what he intended to do. He would charge full force in and deliver a punch to her already injured arm. He knew the pain of such an injury and jarring it more would cause even more pain. "You will learn to fight or this world will kill you. Let's just call this a hard learned lesson." He said this right before he came in close and threw his punch, he held up his other hand tucked against his body, ready to fly out and block if she attempted to resist. She would learn the dangerous path she had chosen to walk in this harsh world, and he'd make sure she learned just how ruthless it could be.

There he was, standing with the bow pointed right at her, and all she saw was her death. He put it away though and she exhaled with a deep sigh of relief. Was he giving her life? Was he done trying to kill her, or did he consider that enough pain to "teach" her the lesson of survival. When he questioned her she had no answer and she closed her eyes for a moment with another sigh of pain, but she felt stupid when she opened her eyes again. He was running at her, his arm felt back and his eyes intent on the arm that was very much broken. Her eyes narrowed and she growled. No, he was not going to put her in more pain for her enjoyment and just to teach her some stupid lesson. She was not some rag doll he could throw around as a play toy. She did not ask to be taken under his wing and taught to survive during her adventures, she planned to meet that fate when it came. And she had hoped it never would.

In the last movement when he moved closer she reared again, the pain of her back leg just something she had to swallow as she kicked out her fore legs in a hope to hit him upside the head. Analay still had no passion to kill, but if she could slow him enough to run, that would be enough to her. She didn't weight when she came back down before she lost balance as she went into a bucking fit, back hooves lashing out with power and might to save herself and keep him away. Her power was gone, all her energy was gone, but she kept on fighting anyways. No matter how tempting it look to go lay in the cool stream under the soft rain. This was not possible though, she was doomed for now and would have to win her freedom back. She stooped and back away, her good side leaning against a tree as she breathed deeply, her chest rising and falling as she gasped for breath and energy.

"Please, just leave me alone. I didn't ask for you "training" so I can survive my adventure,"

Analay gasped and begged, her honey eyes dead. Slowly her knees finally buckled and her side slid down the soft tree to lay on the mossy forest floor, still gasping for breath, her eyes closing. So tired, so hurt.

Irontail was disappointed. He had certainly hoped that this battle would have been better, that she said she was not a warrior out of foolish modesty, but this seemed quite wrong. Even as he charged in at her, he could see the effects his blows had had on her. She may be made of strong stuff, but she did not have much endurance in a fight. That still did not matter, she was in the real world now and she'd have to fight whether she liked it or not.

He pulled back in his charge as she pulled up, but it was far too late to pull himself out of range of her hooves. His one hand deflected her left hoof away harmlessly, but his other arm could not come down in an effective block, just making enough contact to slow the leg slightly. He was suddenly looking at the sky as he pulled back and the hoof drove his head backwards, causing him to stumble backwards. The peak of his rage was over and he felt the full force of the blow and could easily see the spots that erupted in his vision from the blow. He stepped back and regained his footing as he tried to focus upon the mare. A ringing filled his ears as he tried to concentrate. He knew the disorientation would soon pass, but it worried him. She still had enough power to injure him more, even with her own wounds. Even though she was just a blob in his vision he felt a smile come across his face, even as it leaked red blood from his split lower lip. "Welcome to the real world, foal," he said. He would have said more, but his head swam and the words he was going to say eluded him. He felt the rain upon his head and it slowly began to clear, but she was still a threat. She had learned her lesson here, he had done his part to taint the life of this young mare. To shape it in the way of the warrior, now to just see if his little push helped shape her into someone worthwhile in his eyes.

Little did she know the way that she kicked out at Irontail was enough to make her just a blur to him. She had considered trying to knock him out, but even then she her remorse for hurting him to such an extreme would have made her to run back after she ran away to check on him. The was the difficulty with being soft hearted, but this characteristic was not always bad, and she would argue that. The blob of color to Irontail found herself hugging the tree as she lay on the ground, trying to hold herself up as trickles of tears fell down her cheek as she whimpered over her arm. Never had she felt a pain so...painful, so killer than she just wanted to cry and scream. This truly would do her no good in the long run though, she knew that. She would have to find some cloth and make her own brace, and then next time she moved by a tribe get the healer to fix her up. Which right not she planned her visit to a trbe very soon, sooner than she had had originally planned a few hours ago when the trip to a village was to be quick.

Analay opened her eyes when Irontail spoke, her glassy honey eyes not a harsh glare as before, she just didn't have the energy for such a emotion. Period. She snorted softly at his words, brushing damp strangs of red hair from her face as she looked up towards the man, pleased to see his lip bleeding from her kick, though she did pity him. Good square kicks hurt, she learned that lesson the hard way. The rain fell over her body, cleaning the blood from her rubbed arm and leaking into the deep wound on her broken arm, which reminded her she'd need to get that stitched up. Wincing she leaned, gathering up some natural herbs she found on the forest floor. She broke the plants, and pressed the juices into the wounds, wincing as she did this. She didn't want to move, but she knew she would need to soon, especially if he tried an attack again. She snorted as she looked at her hind legs and slowly pulled them out, forcing herself back up to her hooves before she cramped up.

"I hope you meet a mare when you are looking for a mate who kicks your butt stallion,"

Analay growled, it was the only insult she could conjour up, and even she knew it was lame. Watching his carefully she moved about, picking up her arrow canister and the whole arrows. With saddened eyes she left her broken bow on the forest floor, another expense to add when she went to the village, a new weapon. She sighed at the thought, which meant another journey down to the jewel cave to get some riches to spend with. This stallion was causing her more and more pain the more she thought of just the amount of trouble he was causing. Expenses the worst of it, especially being out of the herd, she couldn't go running home to get a new weapon and care to her wounds under tender hands. No, it was she who would have to take care of herself, but that along with her adventure, and she had been warned about that been many family members when she left.

The world was slowly pulling itself back together as he tried to focus. Her kick had only knocked him back a few steps, she was still fairly close. The rain streaking down coated his hair onto his skull and slightly into his eyes. He pulled it away and saw her clearly again as she struggled to lean over and crush the herbs. She knew her medicine, that was not bad, but she still was not a warrior. His shoulders slumped slightly, even he had to accept it at this point. Even he'd have a very tough time converting such a soft one. He pulled on one of his saddlebags and pulled it loose, looking at its contents when she spoke her words.

He stopped his search of the pouch and snickered. He looked up at the exhausted mare and could not help but fully laugh out loud. The laughter was cut short as the action brought a sharp pain in his side, where her arrow still stuck in him. With a quick twist and a pull he brought out the projectile with a grunt as it pulled against the wound it had caused. Though with the arrow out his laughter returned, not at all as loud as it had started, but certainly strong and true. It was not an insane laugh, but a true laugh that one utters when something is truly funny. Through his chuckles he pulled out a waterskin from his saddlebag and began to squeeze it and paste the foul smelling paste onto his abdomen.

"You just do not understand me, do you?" He said, rubbing gently on the wound to attempt to stop any infection. "That is exactly the kind of mare I am searching for. Not one of those flirty, weak types, but a strong mare that can give me a good fight." He paused as she collected her things and he pulled out some leather straps he generally used as bandages. A wound about his waist he could bandage, but the cut on his horse stomach was very difficult to reach. "I had that perfect mate too. She was strong and unshakable, not letting anyone put her down. Oh, we were very alike and in love Lathara and I. But she was killed by a band of Lorkathick. That is where mt hate for humans and Lorkathick all started. It has been a few months now, but that hurt and anger will never be quenched." He jerked his arms as he pulled the strap around his gut tight. "So if you know anyone such mare, please let me know. I'd truly love to meet her." He was calmer, it must have been that hard kick and the laughter that dissipated much of his anger. He stood there, prying at his right shoulder, trying to dig out the feather still buried in the wound. He accepted her as not a warrior, but now she knew who he was. If she met him again she'd know she'd have to fight or run. The warning was out.

((This is not going to be a great post, I'm gonna determine that now....))

Everything ached, everything burned, not even the cool rain could wash away and subside the pains. It was there, pinching at her and making her want to lay down, fine a nice patch and lay down. Rest her muscles and wounds. Analay knew that that was both a fowl idea due to the fact that laying down now would only make her muscles ache more when she got up and it was not safe here. She didn't trust this stallion, though she couldn't pin him as a rapist so much, she wouldn't push it past a stallion of his type to tell other stallions there was a lone female traveling the woods or flat out kill her if he tracked her down wherever she settled for a rest. With these thoughts she knew she had a long nights journey away from these lands before both her body and mind could settle for a well needed rest. Plain and simple. It was the life she had chosen though. The risky adventurous life, fending for herself, and dealing with problems herself.

When she finally gathered her things and she spoke what she thought would offend him on her hope he would get beat up by a mare, she froze. She stopped, staring at him in utter shock as he laughed. Laughed at her in total amusement like she was a comedian who had finally hit the punch line. He was cut short by the arrow though and she smirked at that, but when he had it out he was laughing again. Not fake, not insane, not short. Laughing flat out at her and at the comment she made. Did he really find that amusing? She just wanted to slap him because no matter what she said or did to this stallion was doing any justice. When he spoke though, it made her smile some. Love. That was a common ground she could find with this stallion. He was searching for a mare to reach his expectations, just as she hoped to find the stallion who could compete with his yearn for adventure, but still be her lover in the end. She had plenty of stallion friends, but as it came closer to the time where she would be the only mare of her mare friends without a stallion, she needed she find a lover and less friends.

The stallion definitely seemed calmer now, which relaxed her nerves. The atmosphere became awkward as she was allowed time to set her thoughts straight and they were no longer hurting one another or throwing out rude comments. It was awkward because this was not the typical stallion she would remain in the presence of. The young mare eyes flickered to her direction of travel, back into the cave to collect another small bag of jewels, and then her gaze shifted back toward a small village she had passed before entering the forest. To buy food, medical, a new weapon, bathing. Everything sounded so nice right now, and being back in the herd where walking in and everyone of her "family" would rush to her aid was pleasant, but she could not. She could not give in, this was her life, and going back beaten up would only prove the centaurs who didn't think she could survive without the herd right. Her pride for herself and her blood families respect simply could not allow that. She remained silent, gazing out to the woods as she gathered her thoughts.

((Eh, I thought it was good. Now I need to come up with a reply.))

His laughter quieted down. He had gotten it out of his system, but he was still trying to remove the emotional pain the topic he had just said brought to him, much as he was trying to remove the feather from his shoulder right now. The wound was slick with rain and blood as he tried to dig it out of his thick shoulder. His muscles were toned from all his adventures, but it made it that much more difficult to dig the feather out. His fingers finally found the odd shaped lump and gave a pull. It came out slowly, but it was easier to pull now. It burned as it rubbed against the nerve endings. He finally drew forth the feather and held it up to his inspecting eye. That certainly would have caused him no end of trouble if had stayed in the wound. He applied the same paste to his shoulder, watching the mare.

She seemed somewhat confused and distant. It was very tempting to punch her as her mind wandered, but she was beaten enough. One of such potential did not deserve to die, not yet at least. "I'm still right here, it would be in your best interest to stay focused." He was trying to prepare her for the real world, this was not some kind world, especially not him. "Unless you truly believe I am a friend..." He smiled, she most likely did not believe that, and rightfully so. She needed to stay focused, no matter how much her body ached. He had killed a human, there were always more, but so far they had been lucky to remain alone. He feared that it would not last much longer.
